|About Andrea Goralsky|
|In spring 96 I met Katrin Kuhfuhs-Schaffrin, an artist from Düsseldorf who, after looking at a few of my early drawings, said: "Paint! Not what is around you, but rather what is inside of you!" This statement became the foundation of my artistic evolution, and I will always be thankful to her for this constructive criticism.
When ever I face a white canvas, I have no idea what will come out of it. I just paint what I feel but can't describe nor explain in words. By and by I start to relate to my painting: agressivity, softness, distruction, compassion, expressions, contra-dictions ... until I have nothing more to say. I use the paintbrush to express my inner "unknown" feelings. And when I succeed, I feel happy and satisfied.
Last spring I finally decided to dedicate my life to painting. I applied to several Art Schools in Germany, without success I might add. At this point I had no other choice but to continue working towards the preparation of my portfolio: By next spring (99) I am determined to be accepted in one Art Academy or another!
I hope that the Art is Art internet gallery will offer me the chance to get in contact with other artists around the world that could help me in my artistic evolution.
